SOSNOLA FOUNDER RECOGNIZED FOR EMPOWERING WOMEN IN NEW ORLEANS

Angela Daliet, Founder and Executive Director of Save Our Schools New Orleans was honored in December 2008 with a V to the Tenth Leadership Award. Angela was recognized for her leadership in working to ensure an end to the physical, economic and environmental violence against women and girls within New Orleans. “There is much work to be done to ensure a better future for all of our underserved communities, especially women and girls, but I strongly believe that equal access to excellent public schools is a critical step toward empowerment, progress and prosperity,” says Angela.

V-Day is a global movement to end violence against women and girls that raises funds and awareness through benefit productions of Playwright/Founder Eve Ensler’s award winning play The Vagina Monologues. V-Day’s 10th Anniversary – V to the Tenth – focused on the women leaders of New Orleans and the Gulf South.
